The Roadrunner Men's Tennis team picked up a signature GSAC and Region 19 win over traditional rival Mercer County Community College, 5-4, on Tuesday at home.
And Coach Brian Rowan, whose team improved to 6-1 overall this spring, the win was a key comeback following last season's loss to the Vikings in the Region 19 tournament at Mercer County Park.
"This was a tough battle all the way and proved to be a nice win over a tough opponent," Rowan said.
Rowan complimented sophomores Chase Rollins and Maddox Marker, who enjoyed banner afternoons.
Rollins and Marker combined for a No. 1 doubles win while Rollins claimed a win at No. 1 singles and Marker clinched the match with a triumph at No. 3 singles.
George Gould also picked up two wins on the day at No. 3 Doubles with Chris Arevalo and No. 6 Singles.
"Chase (Rollins) and Maddox (Marker) were outstanding today, and they have been real team leaders throughout the past two seasons," Coach Rowan said.
Next up for the Runners will be the South Jersey College Tennis Open Friday, April 3rd. Watch for results.
