When looking over his roster prior to the start of the 2021 Spring season, Roadrunner Men's Soccer Coach George Hobbins held high expectations for sophomore forward Sinan Tuzcu, a Glassboro High graduate and Rutgers-Camden transfer.
And with good reason.
"Sinan can put the ball in the back of the net," Hobbins noted. "We're excited to have him here."
Tuzcu and the Runners' Men's Soccer team won their season opener Friday, a 3-0 victory over visiting Salem CC at Total Turf Experience. Tuzcu scored all three goals while sophomore Jake Fazi added two assists.
The talented Tuzcu, with an assist from Fazi, drilled home the first goal for a 1-0 lead at the 11:00 mark of the first half. That was all the offense needed, although Tuzcu put the outcome out of reach with two more goals in the second half -- one at 61:00 with an assist from Fazi, and the other at 75:00 with an assist from Steve Campos.
Freshman goal keeper Gunner Hoffman posted the shutout, making two saves.
Next up for the Runners will be a key battle at Camden County College on Tuesday, April 6 in a 3 pm start.
