Season Preview 2026: Roadrunner Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams Hope to Be Among Best in the Nation!

 

The Roadrunner Men's and Wpmen's Track and Field teams open theor 2026 spring season with national aspirations following a successful campaign last season. Coach Ryan Hughes and Assistants Joe Kalnas amd Richard Johnson will once again guide two competitive rosters when the season opens Saturday at The Lloyd Sigler Meet at Salisbury University.

Roadrunner 2026 Men's and Women's Track and Field

Coach Ryan Hughes - 23rd season, His track and cross country teams have finished in the top 10 nationally 56 times and in the top 3 nationally 18 times!  Included in this impressive team record are 6 National Championship teams: Women's Cross Country in 2006 and 2012, Men's Track in 2014, 2018, 2019 and Women's Track in 2013.

Assistant Coaches:

Joseph Kalnas - 20th season – he is the Assistant Coach specializing in the Throws and Strength & Conditioning for all events. A long-standing USA Track and Field (USATF) member and a USATF Level I Certified Track & Field Coach.

Richard Johnson - 4th season -- he is a USATF Level 1 certified coach with a multitude of experience in the sport of track and field as an athlete and a coach.

2025 season Recap:

Men's Track: On the men's side, the team came home with 12 seasonal best performances and finished 9th in the NJCAA Division III team standings.

Women's Track:  The Roadrunner Women captured the Region 19 team championship and finished 6th in the NJCAA D III National Championship Meet.

The 2025 season concluded with 10 All-Americans and the women as Region Champions and men finishing as runners-up.

Women's Track: Georgia Lorenzetti - distance; Mya Rauchut - throws.
