Roadrunner Men's Golf to Battle Tough Field in Quest for Third Straight GSAC Championship

Roadrunner Men's Golf to Battle Tough Field in Quest for Third Straight GSAC Championship

Roadrunner Golf Coach Guy Davidson knows the path to a third straight Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) championship will require little room for error from his talented team.

And that's exactly the message the veteran coach has relayed to his athletes who will look to finish on top at Flanders Valley Golf Club on Wednesday afternoon in a 12 noon start.

While the Runners have performed well in recent weeks, their margins of wins have been razor thin thanks to tough competition from GSAC rivals such as County College of Morris, Ocean County College and Raritan Valley.

"We've won some of our meets by 2 or 3 strokes, so to be blunt, we can't have a sub-par day or we might lose," said Dr. Davidson. "All of the teams are pretty evenly matched, so we have to show up with our lowest scores."

Several RCSJ golfers will need consistent outings, including captain Nick Iuliucci and teammates Andrew Michalski, Connor Eberly, Julian Boyer, and Colin Pape among others. Michalski returns after missing recent meets dur to an illness.

"We have a competitive team as we have shown all season, so I'm confident in this group," said Davidson. "With Andrew (Michalski) back, we will have a lot of depth in the lineup."

The Roadrunner Women's team will also take part in team competition, with Lani Guzman, Miya Villari, Sammi Sutter, Neveah Miller and Ashley Ward leading the charge.
