The Roadrunner Men's Basketball team showed plenty of resiliency in bouncing back from a tough buzzer-beating loss earlier in the week to Ocean County College.
Saturday's 77-72 triumph over visiting Harrisburg-Area Community College was just what the Runners needed as they hope to jump start their 2025-26 season in the right direction.
Guards Ace Lassiter and Dasir Williams-Bey led all scorers with 20 points each, helping the team ignite an 18-0 run at one stretch to hold off a rally by the visitors.
Lassiter also collected 6 assists and 5 steals to help keep the win intact.
Forwards Kasir Baker and Aiden Cranmer also chipped in with 15 and 11 points respectively for the Runners.
The Runners had dropped a heart-breaking 80-79 defeat to Ocean County College on Thursday, but began turning things around at the outset of Saturday's game in jumping out to a 40-35 halftime lead. They managed to hold the Hawks to a standoff in the second half, with each team scoring 37 points in the half.
Next up for RCSJ, which now holds a 3-4 overall record, is a home match vs. Thaddeus Stevens College on Nov. 25 in a 7 pm tipoff.
