BEST IN NATION! Roadrunners Named Recipient of NATYCAA Ron Case Cup presented by Daktronics for Ninth Time!

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Rowan College of South Jersey Gloucester Athletics has once again been recognized as the premier non-scholarship athletic program in the nation, capturing the prestigious 2025-26 NATYCAA Ron Case Cup Presented by Daktronics for the third consecutive year.

The award, presented annually by the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA), honors the top overall two-year college athletic program in the NJCAA Non-Scholarship Division. The Roadrunners were recognized during the NACDA Convention at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

RCSJ Gloucester's continued excellence was highlighted by an outstanding 2025-26 athletic campaign in which 13 of the college's 16 varsity teams qualified for NJCAA National Championship competition. Leading the way was the Roadrunner Baseball program, which advanced to the national championship game and finished as the NJCAA national runner-up.

Assistant Athletic Director Rich Cooper accepted the award on behalf of the institution.

"Three consecutive NATYCAA Ron Case Cups is a remarkable achievement and a reflection of the standard our coaches and athletes strive to uphold every day." commented Roadrunner Executive Director for Athletics Brian Rowan. "This award recognizes success across our entire athletic department and highlights the depth, consistency, and competitiveness of Roadrunner Athletics. This recognition also reflects the collective effort and the support of our college leadership and Board of Trustees, and the pride our campus community takes in Roadrunner Athletics. To earn our ninth NATYCAA Ron Case Cup and complete a national three-peat is an achievement everyone associated with RCSJ Gloucester can celebrate and should be really proud of."

Institutions earn points toward the NATYCAA Ron Case Cup based on national championship finishes, with schools counting their top five finishes per gender at their highest level of competition. Championship teams earn 20 points, second-place finishes receive 19 points, third-place teams receive 18 points, and so on.

The award has been sponsored by Daktronics in partnership with NATYCAA since 2020. In 2024, NATYCAA renamed the award the Ron Case Cup Presented by Daktronics in honor of longtime Rowan College athletic director Ron Case, who served as NATYCAA President in 1999-2000 and helped oversee the Cup program from its inception in 2004 through June 2024.

The top three finishers in the 2025-26 Ron Case Cup standings were:

  1. RCSJ Gloucester
  2. Joliet Junior College
  3. Hudson Valley Community College

The Roadrunners' latest championship further solidifies one of the most successful athletic traditions in two-year college athletics. Over the past 23 years, RCSJ Gloucester has captured nine NATYCAA Cups and finished among the nation's top five programs 20 times in the last 22 seasons.

This marks the fifth NATYCAA Cup earned during Brian Rowan's tenure as Executive Director of Athletics and continues a legacy of sustained excellence that has made Roadrunner Athletics a national standard in junior college competition.
