Today we highlight sophomore women's golfer Lanie Guzman, who played key roles in helping the Roadrunners qualify for the NJCAA Division III Golf Championships representing Region 19.

Year: Sophomore

Hometown: Vineland, NJ

High School: Vineland, Class of 2023.

Major: Business Administration. Will transfer to Rowan University in Spring 2026 and hopes to own her own business following graduation.

Interests and Favorite Activities: Likes to play golf as a hobby, shooting a round of golf every Sunday afternoon, She listens to all types of music and watches professional sports on TV. Her favorite pro athlete is PGA golfer Rory McIlroy. She also enjoys singing at her local church. and is very family-oriented.

About Lanie Guzman: Lanie has consistently showed steady improvement in her game from last season. She hopes to play well in the upcoming NJCAA Division III National Championships following a solid performance in the Region 19 Championships.

Lanie played four years of high school soccer at Vineland High School. She played women's soccer as a striker for RCSJ during her freshman year.

Lanie Guzman on playing for RCSJ Gloucester: "The environment here has been great," she commented. "I saw a lot of commitment from everyone I played with plus the coaches -- and it really rubbed off on me personally.

"I feel I've improved on my skills a lot. This game is hard to play, so there's always room for improvement. To see where I've come from last year to where I am now has inspired me.

Roadrunner Women's Golf Coach Guy Davidson on Lanie Guzman: “Lanie is the face of those women who have never played the game before... learning enough as part of the program to compete in the National tournament and walk away with honors that will last a lifetime. She's a major selling point for our program in that you can learn the game fast enough to enjoy it while playing here and have support in making your way through the college academically."
